Amazon’s mobile shopping application has just been released to the iTunes App Store for download. Once you enter your account information, you can shop, search and buy products from any of the multitude of Amazon shops right from your iPhone.

This iPhone shopping application is a really great concept for a number of reasons. The first of which is the ease of use. By extending your Amazon account details from the web to mobile, you don’t need to fidget around trying to set up an account, enter your shipping details or credit card location from a mobile phone. This not only saves hassle, it also helps to keep you from transmitting your credit card details over the mobile web as it can remain stored in your account.

Nokia has announced the first Series 40 phone to include GPS and a camera, as well as a large front display for easy web-surfing. It’s a really slick looking phone and I’m a big fan of sliders as opposed to the clamshell or flip phone style.

The mobile phone boasts a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with built in flash. This is the second serious camera phone we’ve seen announced in recent weeks, the first being the Motozine ZN5 with a built-in Kodak camera.

Tivo owners get a mobile web interface

Tivo owners will now be able to program their DVRs from wherever they are using Tivo’s new mobile web interface. You’ll now be able to program your Tivo to record shows simply by going to m.tivo.com on your mobile phone.

Tivo has offered a web interface for programming your DVR, but you had to be near a computer to do so. This new service offers more flexibility and ease in case you’ve forgotten to record one of your favorite shows and don’t have access to a computer.

The iPhone 2.2 firmware was released last week, adding features such as Google Streetview and direct podcast downloads over the device’s 3G data network connection. Now the iPhone Dev Team has released the tools to jailbreak the 2.2 update and allow for other applications on the device.

While the iPhone Dev Team still hasn’t quite cracked the code on unlocking the iPhone 3G from AT&T, it has released tools to jailbreak the 3G phones in terms of installing new applications. The iPhone Dev Team doesn’t recommend jailbreaking your iPhone 3G if you have any intentions of SIM unlocking the network in the near future.

Myspace Blackberry Application broke 400,000 downloads in first week

MySpace and RIM teamed up to release a social networking application for Blackberry phones last Thursday that seems to be gaining some momentum for MySpace in the mobile arena. The application allows Blackberry users to browser the popular social networking site and receive notifications of activity on their mobile phone.

Over 400,000 people have downloaded the application to their Blackberry device in the first week since its release. As mobile becomes more social, users can bring their social network with them anywhere they go. This allows them to keep up with friends, send messages and feel connected even when they’re far apart.
