Nokia 6260 slider with gps, camera and flash

Nokia has announced the first Series 40 phone to include GPS and a camera, as well as a large front display for easy web-surfing. It’s a really slick looking phone and I’m a big fan of sliders as opposed to the clamshell or flip phone style.

The mobile phone boasts a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with built in flash. This is the second serious camera phone we’ve seen announced in recent weeks, the first being the Motozine ZN5 with a built-in Kodak camera.

The 6260’s GPS and web-browsing capability make it an excellent phone for use on Plazes, the location-based social network acquired earlier in the year by Nokia. Hopefully it will also include a robust driving directions application built on the company’s NAVTEQ map provider as well.

There is, however, one downside to the Nokia 6260 slider that could be helped. While not everyone necessarily needs a keyboard in their smartphone, a touchscreen would make the device’s web-surfing experience so much better.

All in all, it looks like a great phone for the mobile shutterbug to snap pictures and share them with friends from their mobile device.
