    HTC Pure drops with Windows Mobile 6.5 and Marketplace gadgets | Comments Off
      If you snagged an HTC Pure this weekend, you may have notices that the Windows Mobile Marketplace is up and running on your phone. The Pure is the first phone to launch with Windows Mobile 6.5 out of the box. Microsoft may have borrowed the Marketplace idea from Apple’s App Store, but then again, so has everyone else. I’m just wondering if Windows Mobile 6.5 applications will break when 7 comes out next year.

    First Google Sync made it ridiculously easy to sync your calendar and contacts to your iPhone, Windows Mobile or Symbian S60 phone. Now Google Sync will also allow you to get push Gmail on your iPhone, iPod Touch or WinMo smartphone. Push Gmail means that emails will be delivered to your phone as soon as they are received.     Microsoft’s iPhone killers: The Turtle and next-gen Sidekick gadgets | Comments Off
    Microsoft got into the handset market last year with the acquisition of Sidekick-maker Danger and its 2010 roadmap is starting to shape up. The most notable models being the vertical slider pictured above and called the Turtle and the next iteration of Sidekick’s popular device. Windows Mobile 7 isn’t slated for release until late next year, but there’s no telling when these could hit the market.     Microsoft working on Zune for Windows Mobile gadgets | Comments Off
    Steve Ballmer just revealed that Microsoft is working on porting its Zune MP3 player software to run on the Windows Mobile operating system. This will allow previously released phones to catch up with newer releases of the full-featured multimedia player. Ballmer sees digital content as a major trend in the industry and says that, "if we don’t have the software and services that are useful, helpful and valuable for the consumption of music and video, we are sort of not really a player."
