Fail Whale Merchandise and Why I (Still) Love Twitter on the go | Comments Off
Someone has made a page selling Fail Whale merchandise parodying the downtime issues that have been plaguing Twitter as of late. There's even a Fail Whale page on Facebook that you can become a fan of. Twitter allows you to post short status messages or microblogs and to follow your friends' status online or via the mobile web. Their trouble with scaling up the Twitter service is a relatively common story similar to that of Myspace or AOL during the advent of the internet. Total monthly users have quadrupled from about 500 thousand at the end of 2007 to almost ...

Is there a Twitter Rosetta Stone? on the go | (1)
The most interesting thing about Twitter is the ability to easily get an idea of hot topics and conversations going on within social media from so many different perspectives. When Twitter went live in Japan this week, it got me thinking more about how sharing perspectives across continents and cultural boundaries. Since they're broken down into chunks as small ...

DC Area Traffic Updates via Twitter on the go | (1)
Twitter.com/thebeltway publishes real-time traffic incident updates from around the DC Metro area. It's basically a mashup that pulls feeds from Traffic.com and Yahoo Maps and displays them on Twitter. This is a really cool use for SMS notifications on Twitter as it can help you to dodge traffic in real time. The feed is administered by Andrea Baker, a local Web 2.0 evangelist. I think it's pretty cool, though it would be nice to be able to customize the feed somewhat. The feed includes traffic incidents from both the DC and Baltimore beltways. It might be nice to even get ...

7 Twitter Clients for Mobile Phones on the go | (7)
It's hard to find a way to follow all of your Twitter updates without being interrupted by a constant barrage of noise. While it's easy to update your twitter status via SMS, keeping track of your friends on the go would require near-constant text messages. You can subscribe to @ replies, but sometimes you just want to scan through the latest and greatest from the Twitterverse on your phone. I'm hoping for an integrated IM and Twitter application like what Digsby is for the desktop, which seems to be Yahoo OneConnect's goal. Until then, check out these mobile Twitter tools: ...
