    W3C Releases Mobile Web Best Practices 1.0 on the go | (0)
    The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has issued the first version of their recommended mobile web best practices. This document is meant to help developers agree on the basic principles of designing a page for mobile devices. This is the first step toward providing a baseline for web developers and mobile browsers to create better and more consistent mobile web experiences for users. Many of these guidelines seem like good common sense, which I think is often the mark of a well-written standard.     When looking at the state of the Mobile Web today, it's invigorating to see so many companies in recent history that are creating mobile interfaces to their services. Many of the major portals have redesigned their mobile sites to include more rich content than just simple lines of text. The major social sites have nearly all developed both a mobile WAP interface and one specifically for the iPhone's Mobile Safari browser.
