    Microsoft goes schizo, starts blaming Danger for lost data gadgets | Comments Off
    The good news is that Microsoft/ Danger have restored sidekick users’ lost data, but the bad news is that they did it in terribly poor form. Rather than apologize to users and T-Mobile for the hassle and take responsibility for their actions, Microsoft’s press release passes the buck to Danger, Inc. The only problem is that Microsoft bought Danger and is therefore trying to shift blame to one of its own divisions. That just adds insult to injury for users and their business partner, T-Mobile, who has been taking the brunt of angry customers. Continue ...

    Microsoft fumbles, T-Mobile recovers in Sidekick data debacle gadgets | Comments Off
    At one point the Danger Sidekick was quite possibly the best mobile communications device available. In addition to being a smartphone, it had excellent texting and instant messaging applications in a unique and usable form factor. Last year Danger was acquired by Microsoft and in those few short months, the division is ready to implode. Microsoft lost gobs of customer data including their contacts, calendars and photos. To make matters worse, the company didn’t have any backups of their data. Oh and now there are rumors that the next generation Sidekick may never see the light ...

    Microsoft’s iPhone killers: The Turtle and next-gen Sidekick gadgets | Comments Off
    Microsoft got into the handset market last year with the acquisition of Sidekick-maker Danger and its 2010 roadmap is starting to shape up. The most notable models being the vertical slider pictured above and called the Turtle and the next iteration of Sidekick’s popular device. Windows Mobile 7 isn’t slated for release until late next year, but there’s no telling when these could hit the market. The vertical slider is an interesting form factor that I’ve yet to see done justice by any handset maker. Continue Reading...
