iControlPad is a docking system that fits snugly around your iPhone and gives you access to a control pad and four buttons that you can use for mobile gaming. If you check out the pic, it looks kind of similar to the PSP set up only it’s even smaller. But are there games that you can play on your iPhone using the buttons? I’m glad you asked…
The iControlPad dock is currently compatible with the ZodTTD game emulators for iPhone. This means that you can play games designed for Gameboy, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Playstation or Sega Genesis. The iControlPad team is also sending out samples to other emulation teams so that they can support the hardware as well. I wonder if we will also see iPhone gaming companies building on the iControlPad and integrating gyroscope support.
I wonder how long until someone makes a Wii emulator for the iPhone to take advantage of the built in gyroscopes. It won’t be long until you see people riding the train on their commute while waving their iPhone wildly in the air!
