Postlerferguson’s Weapon Model kits allow you to construct realistic replica grenades, Uzis, MP5s, AK-47s or M4A8 out of thin air and paperboard. The company started with the world-famous AK-47, a gun that is well-known in warzones around the world.

The stark color and fine detail of these pieces highlight these weapons’ destructive power in real life. Plus the models are so lifelike and 3-dimensional it’s hard to believe that it’s just folded paper.

The problem with most Bluetooth stereo headsets is that they aren’t versatile enough to use for both music and calling. The Jabra HALO solves this problem in style with a sleek style and full coverage.

There’s no boom microphone, so Jabra makes up for it with dual noise-cancelling mics. It can also juggle connections with two separate devices simultaneously, opening up a broad range of possibilities.

Some users may have separate devices for their MP3 player than their mobile phone and will want to switch back and forth. Others can connect their phone and laptop for VoIP calling, music or teleconferencing in their home or office.

Jabra’s design in the HALO is well thought-out and the over-the-head styling means that it should work well for runners as well. And you can always use the plugged version in case your stereo doesn’t have Bluetooth.

Recently some Scientists claimed that Velociraptor’s rear claws may have actually evolved to help them climb trees. They hypothesized that the raptors might have hunted by pouncing on their prey from above.

It’s bad enough to imagine Velociraptors springing from the clear blue sky, but imagine them lurking there waiting for unsuspecting prey. That’s where the legend of the bat-raptor comes in.

While they may not have wings or even pointy cowls, you wouldn’t want to turn around in a dark forest and see one of these bad mama-jamas staring you down. At least, that was Stew’s thinking when he pieced together the work of art above.

Kidrobot has done a great job of introducing great vinyl artists and finding new takes on pop culture. Now Kidrobot has teamed up with The Simpsons creator Matt Groening to release a special line of vinyl toys dedicated to the show.

They’re blind-boxed, so you never know if you’re gonna get Kang or Kodos, but either way you’ll be set to take over the world. And Kidrobot is also releasing other 6-inch vinyl figures of other Simpsons characters.

Also on deck is Ralph Wiggum who comes with either paste or an evil little mini leprechaun figure. Prior to this, KR and Groening teamed up to release a line of Futurama mini figures as well.

The Livio Radio connects to wifi to stream Pandora Radio into your home. It has very clean lines, a simple speaker and (almost) all the features you could want.

Buttons for voting songs up or down and allows you to skip to the next song are almost allow you to fine-tune your Pandora stream. A single knob allows you to control both the station and the volume.

So what’s missing?

The peeps at DVICE tested out the all-in-one control knob and found it, “maddeningly difficult to use,” as it requires too much pressure to change the station. It sounds like the controls are only really effective if you push the Livio Radio against a wall.

While I appreciate clean, classic design, I think Livio could have sprung for a second knob so as to have separate volume and station controls. Unfortunately it’s a case of an A in design, but a C in terms of overall usability.

Still the concept of a Pandora radio holds a lot of promise. One of Pandora’s great strengths is that it’s available on your computer or an iPhone, just not in your living room until now.

The Home Away Clock is an excellent use of visual design techniques melded with an otherwise boring every-day item. By graying out the second clock face, the viewer’s eye is drawn to the primary display.

This allows you to decide whether the secondary input is required before forcing your eye to the Away side of the clock. Both are clearly visible and simple clock faces that contrast against an otherwise stark white piece of electronics.

The Home Away Clock was designed by Kit Men and will be on display at the Art Directors Club Gallery beginning on Oct. 21. The Clock was ultimately designed for Hong Kong based RMS electronics, but there’s no word on a price tag.

This is perfect for the world traveler or as a desk clock for anyone that works with international business partners. That is, if you can get your hands on one.
