Timewaster Thursday: Super Blockquote asides | (0)
So you're sitting in your cube just waiting for Friday to finally show up, and you need a little distraction. BoingBoing has a new flash breakout clone where you destroy blocks of letters instead of the typical blocks. Unfortunately there aren't any powerups and it doesn't track your score, but you do get to kill off those pesky words things that are made up of those confusing letters. There's a bonus ninja for anyone that is able to master all 2 minutes of the game. Yeah, next Thursday I'll find a "real" time waster. There's always boxhead: the zombie wars if ...

    What’s in a Name? Skoogle Phone asides | (2)
Yesterday I speculated about Google's potential deal to buy Skype and whether it may have implications for the Android handset. The story immediately became the most popular one I've ever written and made it to the front page of Digg with a lot of help from my friends. Big shout outs to everyone for the love! Stop pointing asides | (0)
In a recent article by the New York Times, technology is to blame for the distancing of our children from their parents. More specifically, text messaging, is what's causing the American family to disconnect. The article continues on by saying that the kids of today have some sort of advantage over their parental units, based on the fact that cell phones are so small. It's become increasingly hard to spy or keep tabs on their children's conversations. New obscure acronyms also used as an excuse to prevent Mom and Dad from figuring out whats being said ...

Cherry Blossom Festival Peak in DC asides | (0)
This weekend marks both the beginning of the National Cherry Blossom Festival as well as the weekend that's predicted to be the peak bloom in DC. In addition, the Smithsonian Kite Festival is this weekend on the Mall. I'll be taking my nephews down to go fly a kite and get a bento box in honor of cultural heritage of one of DC's most treasured gifts. With both of these events and the DC marathon this weekend, I think I'll hop the Metro. You might do well to do the same. Better yet here's a webcam of the National Mall and ...

You’re talking to me and I’m NAKED! asides | (1)
I’ve always been a supporter of telecommuting. It actually gives employees more time to work during the day and relieves them from spending countless hours in traffic every year. This also means less time wasted settling in after traffic, grabbing cups of coffee and discussing last nights “Survivor” next to the water cooler. In fact, a survey by Insight Express and security vendor SonicWall found that 75% of home workers believe they get MORE done and 61% of their managers agree. Obviously working from home really opens up your wardrobe possibilities. You could return phone calls in your bathrobe ...
