Recently some Scientists claimed that Velociraptor’s rear claws may have actually evolved to help them climb trees. They hypothesized that the raptors might have hunted by pouncing on their prey from above.
It’s bad enough to imagine Velociraptors springing from the clear blue sky, but imagine them lurking there waiting for unsuspecting prey. That’s where the legend of the bat-raptor comes in.
While they may not have wings or even pointy cowls, you wouldn’t want to turn around in a dark forest and see one of these bad mama-jamas staring you down. At least, that was Stew’s thinking when he pieced together the work of art above.
