It might seem that mobile data access is a luxury that cell phone users could forgo during tight times, but consumers actually expect to use the mobile web more over the next two years. These findings come from a recent survey of 50,000 consumers throughout Europe put on by The Nielsen Company
“More significantly, according to the research more than a quarter of the millions of consumers who do not use mobile data services today intend to start using them shortly,” said Jesse Goranson of Nielsen.
User’s are increasingly using the Web on their mobile phones to stay in touch with one another and access information about the world around them. It will be interesting to see how our behaviors change as consumers in terms of what we buy and where we shop based on this increased awareness.
There are already 100 million subscribers accessing data networks from their handsets worldwide. However, there’s still a ways to go before the mobile web is truly universal.

I agree with you!
I’m not sure at your place, but here(Malaysia), data services is not cheap.
Yeah data service isn’t really cheap in the States either, but it is in the European nations involved in this particular survey.
I think I have seem a 500mb data plan for less than $30, but that is still to little.
