It’s been over a month since Google’s Android mobile OS branched off to the Cupcake build. While it’s not been officially announced, Cupcake is likely being designed especially for the G2 phone.
Pictures of the rumored G2 phone surfaced just last week sans keyboard, lending credence to the idea that Cupcake’s onscreen keyboard was being readied for the G2 device. Now we can take a look at the on-screen keyboard and other features added to Cupcake.
In addition to improved web browsing and stereo bluetooth A2DP protocol support, Cupcake now has a working on-screen keyboard in portrait mode. Google engineers have also created a Notepad application and a World Time clock.
The Android icons will include multiple ways to access your contacts including one for just contacts with phone numbers and one for starred contacts. It’s nice to see Android improving on its hideous contact management shortfalls, though I’m not sure better sorting is the solution.
