Spy shots of the Android G2 have leaked online, confirming the rumor that the second generation Android phone is the forthcoming HTC Sapphire phone. The Android G2 features a touch screen with no hardware QWERTY phone, but keeps the trackball.
This news also gives further credence to my speculation that Android Cupcake is being built for the Android G2 phone. We’re still looking for shots of Cupcake’s on-screen keyboard to get an idea of what the experience could be like.
Keyboards are a big sticking point for hardcore smartphone users and communicators. There’s just no way that an on-screen keyboard can allow you to type as quickly as a hardware one. This makes a huge difference when trying to respond to emails or for heavy texting.

I agree as I like having the keyboard and this just looks like a cheaper and smaller alternative to the G1.

How about the price? Anyone?
I don’t know. I like the look of it. Looks much better and sleaker than the G1, but if they get rid of the keyboard, it would be a big mistake. This is what seperated G1 from the Iphone.
