Outside.in has coupled hyper-local content with mobile location to bring its Radar local news application onto the iPhone. The Radar application for iPhone uses the built-in GPS to determine your location and delivers recent news and blog posts from your immediate area.
Radar starts by displaying the 10 most recent stories within 1000 feet of your location along with a summary. You can click on stories to read them, or zoom out to see a view with the entire city. It seems like a really interesting way to get a pulse on the city around you in a snap.
The only downside of this application is the $2.99 price tag that comes with it. I’m a huge fan of applications that leverage my mobile location, but I’m not sure it’s worth paying to get it. You could use Outside.in Radar’s web interface from your iPhone at http://outside.in/radar, but you have to enter your location.
Get it from the iTunes App Store
