Details of HTC’s latest touch screen phone have leaked been leaked online by Expansys. The Iolite is the successor to the Touch Diamond with an even smaller form factor. The diminutive HTC Iolite measures just 4″ by 2″, tiny by the standard of most other smartphones.
However the Iolite packs a lot of punch with a 528 Mhz processor from Qualcomm. Somehow HTC also managed to squeeze in a GPS and 3G radio into the smartphone somewhere. The Iolite also comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera built in.
The HTC Iolit will run Windows Mobile 6.1 and include HTC’s TouchFlo interface. It’s not clear when, if, or with which carrier it’s coming to the US, as the phone hasn’t been actually announced yet at all. While I’m a huge proponent of smartphones with QWERTY keyboards, the Iolite is a small, capable and sleek device.
Nice catch, Cellpassion
