Tivo owners will now be able to program their DVRs from wherever they are using Tivo’s new mobile web interface. You’ll now be able to program your Tivo to record shows simply by going to m.tivo.com on your mobile phone.
Tivo has offered a web interface for programming your DVR, but you had to be near a computer to do so. This new service offers more flexibility and ease in case you’ve forgotten to record one of your favorite shows and don’t have access to a computer.
Prior to this, only Verizon Mobile customers had access to their Tivo programming from the mobile web. Now anyone with a Tivo will be able to manage their programming regardless of phone or carrier.
You can also manage your programming if you are a Slingbox owner, from the Slingbox mobile software for Windows Mobile, Palm and Symbian phones, as CNET points out. Slingbox also allows you to broadcast your shows to your mobile phone or to another computer.
Here’s a screenshot showing your options:

- Slingplayer Mobile coming to an iPhone near you
- Get your Zimbra Mail anywhere with ZimbraME
- Livecontacts Buddyfinder Gets Reviewed
- Consumers want the Palm Pre but Verizon doesn’t
