PhoneFusion has announced that it will be releasing a version of its Fusion Voicemail Plus application for the Android platform. This application will allow Android phones such as the recently released T-Mobile G1, to display a summary of your voicemail so that you can decide which messages to listen to or delete at your convenience.
PhoneFusion already offers versions of their Voicemail Plus application for Windows Mobile, Palm, Symbian and Linux phones. The application works by sending a text message that is captured by the application on your phone. The text message includes the date and time of the call as well as the caller ID information.
in addition to Voicemail Plus, PhoneFusion also offers a service that is similar to Google’s Grand Central in that you have a reserved phone number that can ring your home, office or mobile phone whenever you receive a call. The service is called PhoneFusion One and costs $3.95 per month.
It’s interesting that we haven’t heard anything as of yet about GrandCentral services being integrated with Android as of yet. It seems like it would be natural for G1 owners to start using a GrandCentral number and to integrate messaging and contacts across GMail.
