To continue my series on iPhone blogging tools, I’ve been toying around with a premium application called iBlogger. It’s also a WordPress iPhone client and I’ve decided to round out all the iPhone blog clients that support WordPress first. I’ll do a round-up of all of them once I’ve gotten through all of them so that you can easily compare features and figure out what will meet your needs.
iBlogger is the most powerful iPhone blog application that I’ve come across as of yet. I’ve had a chance to take a cursory look at most of the other iPhone WordPress clients and it will be hard for me to be swayed from my investment in iBlogger. It supports an excellent array of blogging clients and is worth the $9.99 to get this many features for any serious blogger.
Strengths:
Not only does iBlogger support most of our major blog platforms, it all together supports Blogger, WordPress, Movable Type, Typepad, Xanga, Drupal, Blojsam, my.opera.com, LifeType, LivingDot and SquareSpace.
iBlogger also gives you the ability to align images, include a link to your current location at the bottom of a post and manage multiple accounts exceptionally.
Weaknesses:
While Image handling in iBlogger’s iPhone blog client is better than any other I’ve seen, it still doesn’t manage Image attributes as well as it could. I’m hoping to find a tool that lets me adjust the size of images and control the alternate text.
