Probably one of the best-known iPhone blogging tools is Automattic’s native WordPress iPhone application. As far as I know, this is Automattic’s first foray into application development after creating one of the most popular blogging tools that is free and open source to boot.
This is a free application that will handle 80% of WordPress bloggers’ needs. There’s only one small thing that keeps me from using this application as my primary mobile blogging tool, so I hope that they get it fixed in the next revision.
Strengths:
It’s made simply for iPhone and is really quite solid, handling multiple accounts, local drafts and even the retrieval and editing of previous posts.
Weaknesses:
The one lacking feature in the particular iPhone blogging tool is its handling of images. You can add images, but they will always appear at the bottom of the post. Personally, I like to put a teaser image at the top of the post and any additional images at the bottom (in case you couldn’t tell). If the image options improve, this iPhone blog editor will be a force to be reckoned with.
