Facebook addicts will rejoice at the latest release of the official iPhone Application for Facebook. Likely the first thing you’ll notice after logging into the application is a change in the feeds. Instead of just status updates and wall posts, you can now see your entire friendstream on the iPhone just as you would on the desktop application.
The developers have also done a great job adding functionality to the user interface. In addition to adding the full friendstream you can now see comments and leave new comments on feed items. You’ll see either a little plus sign to add a new comment or a bubble with the comment count on the right hand side of the feed item.
Facebook for iPhone 2.0 also dramatically improves message handling and notifications for users. The first version only allowed you to see the first 30 items in their Inbox and no notifications, but both of these two items have been improved. Now you can see all your messages in your Inbox. Notifications will come into your feed through the Home tab.
Other upgrades include slightly upgraded profiles and the ability to find, add and accept friends through the iPhone interface. This feature would have actually come in handy for me this weekend, when I knew that I had a request hanging all weekend and didn’t have time to access the web.
