Also, as I read the Openmoko is VGA device , android is QVGA, so the fonts etc are SMALLER on the openmoko (the screen is SMALL already). For example, providing newer updated SDKs to only "selected" developers. That's pretty sketchy if you're at the same time judging those developments in a prize-winning challenge. With Alltel offering to "jailbreak" or "unlock" and handset you bring them that can work on their network, we may begin to see the carriers start to loosen their stranglehold. Greedy carriers use proprietary communications standards and lock down content on their networks. Why do you think that Europe has such a thriving mobile web community? Standards!
