I’ll admit it. I’m a grown man that still watches cartoons. I’m also intensely curious about the release of a cartoon movie about a bear trained in the ancient art of Kung Fu. And not just any bear, a Panda bear… naturally. The Kung Fu Panda movie will be released Fridays, and though I may not be elbowing through the lines of kids to get into the premier, I’ll definitely check it out.
This morning EA Mobile also announced the release of the Kung Fu Panda mobile game to play on your cell phone. It’s based on the characters and storyline in the movie and allows you to fight your way through the levels using attacks and special moves.
Here are the controls:
Directional Pad: Move, Jump and Crouch
OK Button: Attack
1 and 3: Jump over things
7 and 9: Crouch Attack
Down, Right, Attack: Special Move
As mobile phones are increasingly becoming a gaming platform, the complexity of the controls is getting more complex. It will be interesting to see whether the phone and mobile gaming markets merge or we continue to see phones as a casual gaming platform. Either way, this looks fun and very playable.
