While I’m a big fan of the range of capabilities of Windows Mobile Pocket PCs, Activesync has, at times, nearly driven me to drinking. It can have a hard time syncing on various platforms and can even accidentally double or triple your contacts. This is especially true if you have contacts on your SIM card and then try to add your Outlook contacts into your phone. if you’ve ever done this, you know how frustrating it can be.
Paul from Modaco has created a tiny application to help you get rid of duplicate contacts. It’s called DupeDeDupe and it can compare 200+ contacts in under 2 seconds to figure out which ones are duplicates, then you can decide which one to keep. It matches up your contacts based on their contact information. Paul made it a small executable utility so you don’t have to install another application on your phone, just copy it over and run it!
