Remember when Pizza Hut didn’t even deliver and barely had a web presence worth looking at? I never would have imagined Pizza Hut or their parent company, Yum Brands, which has deep fast food roots, becoming innovators in online and mobile restaurant ordering technology.
Today Pizza Hut added a new feature to their online ordering system to help recommend additional items to your order. The system analyzes past customer orders to find combinations that might be interesting or appealing to their customers. They call this new feature a Virtual Waiter and aim to increase sales by suggesting popular food combinations.
This comes on the heels of their Total Mobile Access, which allows you to order pizza via the mobile web or as easily as sending a text message. Add that to their Pizza Playlist that remembers your favorite orders and you can easily order up a hot meal in just seconds.
I’m a huge fan of online ordering and will rarely call to order food for delivery anymore. Papa Johns has been a mainstay of online ordering and the Wing Zone chain has become a recent favorite of mine. If you live near a college campus, you can also check out Campusfood for local delivery option or check out Delivery.com to see if they have partners in your area.
