I couldn’t liveblog from the Mashmeet due to connectivity issues, but managed to get a few twits out while I was there. It was a really great event showcasing some cool ideas. Definitely check out Kluster- these guys have something going on!
- Arrived at mashmeet #
- Janmedia presents their integrated streaming media server, cdn and cms. They were using their Rainforest Media server to stream the entire event on Mashable and did a great job #
- Lumifi presents their research tool. it’s not a search engine, but can digest and gist huge amounts of information and help you keep it organized. All of the major Journals are online, so this might be a good ‘notebook’ concept for writing papers. #
- Kluster community based project collaboration tool. The idea is that companies can post either ‘backed’ or ‘bootstrap’ ideas. People come with ideas or ‘sparks’ which they can then invest their time and energy ‘watts’ w become successful. Then the project can pay out in real bucks! #
- Voxant content licensing, distribution. With ad embedded widgets. They get content rights from major media outlets and allow publishers large and small to license the content for online use. Even though IP rights aren’t sexy, it’s a very timely issue. #
- Mixx social news… Dc digg! Only Mixx provides customized news home pages so you don’t have to hear about Britney’s latest breakdown! And the variable in individual content helps keeps spammers at bay. #
- Searchles provides social bookmarking, content discovery, and social search engine. Their idea is that through community content sharing and social search, they can find more relevant results. #
- Time for the booze and schmooze. Mashable rocks! #
Also in attendance were Nick O’Neill of the Social Times, Samantha Warren of Viget Labs/ Bad Ass Ideas and Peter Corbett of iStrategyLabs. You can also check out some pictures of the event and possibly spot Pete Cashmore on Flickr.
And a picture of me twittering during the event:
