On Tuesday McAfee published this warning about a Windows Mobile trojan called Infojack that broadcasts your information back to the maker and allows them to covertly install other malware on your phone. You can be infected by the WinCE/InfoJack trojan by downloading a package of software from a Chinese web site. They package the Trojan with a version of Google Maps Mobile, games, or stock software.
The mobile web just got a wee bit more perilous. More info and screenshot after the jump:
The application also installs itself on your storage card and will spread to another device if you insert the infected card. This is obviously not a doomsday kind of virus as the method of spreading isn’t terribly virulent, but it should caution you about installing software or storage cards of dubious origins.
