While it may not be targeting an HTC handset, there is a eam working on creating an Android distribution to run on the Dell Axim x50 and x51. They are making progress, but at this point even they don’t grade themselves as having attained advanced pda functionality.
However, it’s really great to see an open source project to allow windows mobile users to move to android. They have also created touch-screen drivers, though they’re not quite done yet.
