I’ve continued my search for an open source project that could replace windows mobile mobile on my MDA. In considering what would be involved in such an undertaking, I remembered one of the most important features- touch screen support.
Even if Android were able to run on the chipset, touch screen drivers are no small feat. So far, the only company to release a touch screen driver for android is Synaptics. This isn’t insurmountable, but it’s certainly another roadblock to getting android’s capability to overtake WinMo.
